Kalyan Gau Sadan was founded by the benevolent people of Sundernagar town (Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh ) in 2003 by the inspiration and blessings of revered Kala Baba Ji Shri1008, to provide shelter to stray cows wandering around the town. The Sadan is spread over six bighas of land provided by the Government of Himachal Pradesh near the BSL reservoir. Initially the Sadan has planned for shelter of about 100 cows which has now been increased to about 200 cows. To begin with activities of the Sadan, founder members contributed rupees five thousand each. Subsequently about three hundred members are contributing rupees one hundred each per month. Donations are also given by generous public from time to time.

We, at the Kalyan Gau Sadan, are trying to make it a self sustaining venture and therefore have started making organic fertilizer and compost from the cow dung ('gobar') which is helping us supplement our income. We have proposed to build a Gau Mata Temple in the complex.

The veterinary doctors also pay weekly visit to the sadan to examine the health and nutrition of cows.

The Kalyan Gau Sadan is one of the best maintained Gau Shalas in this part of the country on account of our utmost care and dedication. More funds are required for its strengthening. Therefore we solicit donations from the general public and request them to support the Kalyan Gau Sadan by their act of charity.

We hope and pray that your donation by way of charity for the holy cause of cow protection and cow welfare is amply rewarded by the Almighty.
