Kalyan Gau Sadan was founded by the benevolent people of Sundernagar town (Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh ) in 2003 by the inspiration and blessings of revered Kala Baba Ji Shri1008, to provide shelter to stray cows wandering around the town. The Sadan is spread over six bighas of land provided by the Government of Himachal Pradesh near the BSL reservoir. Initially the Sadan has planned for shelter of about 100 cows which has now been increased to about 200 cows. To begin with activities of the Sadan, founder members contributed rupees five thousand each.
